Halliwell Fostering
The benefits of high quality fostering are well evidenced and we always want the best for the young people that come to Halliwell. With that in mind, Halliwell are committed to enabling them to move within the Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme from residential care to an enhanced fostering placement that builds upon the progress they have already achieved while allowing them to also experience the benefits of a family placement.
Halliwell Fostering Services works in partnership with Halliwell Homes to determine the right match of foster carer to child in readiness for the next stage of the therapeutic programme. We locate an appropriate placement through forward planning, recruitment, training and preparation of foster carers who specifically choose to foster with Halliwell Fostering Services. Our approved foster carers understand that they play a crucial role as part of the wider therapeutic team around the child. A primary motivation for those choosing to be foster carers with Halliwell Fostering Services is the desire to provide long term stability for any child placed with them.
Every child or young person placed with Halliwell Fostering Services will receive our enhanced fostering package:
· Foster Carers trained in Pillars of Parenting and able to deliver restorative parenting.
· Oversight of the effective delivery of that plan by a Pillars of Parenting trained chartered child psychologist
working within the Restorative Parenting Recovery Model.
· 24 hr/7 days per week support from supervising social workers from within Halliwell.
· Access to the specialist support network enjoyed by Halliwell in delivering services that match identified
needs.
· Support from a child therapist.
Because we know the young people who are living within our residential homes, we are well placed to recruit and identify fostering placements that are a good match.
We advertise and recruit suitable applicants who meet our identified criteria.
We provide skilled and experienced Form F assessors who fully understand the Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme to facilitate assessment and approval
We provide Skills to Foster training that also introduces Pillars of Parenting and the Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme.
We deliver all the training associated with our Restorative Parenting Recovery Progamme including the Certificate in Pillars of Parenting.
To get the best possible carers for each child, we will resolve accommodation issues.

"I found Halliwell to place high value on offering both child and carer support in a variety of ways which was invaluable for each of us. This came through bringing in an outside therapist as well as weekly support visits from other team members."
"I found the pillars of parenting model of care to be an excellent tool to work from and brought all the areas of care under one very usable and accessible text to refer and draw upon. The group training was useful and the assignments keep your learning relevant and focussed."
